Secure cashless transactions – Mint of Poland renews again its PCI DSS certification

4 april 2022

The Mint of Poland has successfully renewed its PCI Data Security Standard Merchant Level 1 certification for another year. This confirms the maximum security of the Company’s innovative electronic payment solutions for quick and comfortable cashless payments and their compliance with the restrictive requirements set by the leading international card payment organizations.

Compliance with the highest standards

The aim of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification is to ensure that all cardholder data are adequately protected by the payment processor at each stage of the cashless transaction. The Mint of Poland’s PCI DSS Merchant Level 1 Certificate of Compliance is valid until March 2023.

Compliance with PCI DSS standards guarantees passengers the highest security for their sensitive data, as well as the card data and PIN number. This applies to the Company’s entire network of both stationary and mobile vending machines, its smart ticket validators, the ‘Mint Mobile’ app, as well as the readers of ticket inspectors.

Secure and convenient solutions

This February, the Mint of Poland received the Visa Ready certification in the MTT category ‘Transit – Back Office’. This document confirms that all of the Company’s cashless payment solutions for public transport meet Visa’s highest standards for security and convenience of use.

The Mint of Poland joined the Visa Ready for Transit Programme as the first company from Poland back in March 2018. Currently, the Company can boast successful certification in both MTT (Mass Transit Transaction) and KFT (Known Fare Transaction) categories.
