One of the oldest and most technologically advanced mints in the world invites you to a unique exhibition. The exhibition “Treasures of Mennica Polska” combines nearly 260 years of Polish minting tradition with contemporary numismatic gems. This successful combination is reflected in both the selection of interesting topics and the attractive form of presentation. The historical rarities and current projects gathered in one place will delight visitors from November 17 to 30 this year.

Historical heritage

The artistry and extraordinary craftsmanship of coins created and minted at Mennica Polska are written in its DNA. Respect for traditions built up over generations is reflected in maintaining the highest quality of production for nearly 260 years.

The exhibition “Treasures of Mennica Polska” focuses on presenting the development of Polish coinage from the 18th century to the present day. The exhibition will feature unique exhibits from various eras, ranging from coins and stamps from the time of the last king of Poland, through issues from the period of the partitions, the Second Polish Republic, and the Polish People's Republic, to contemporary designs.

Among the most valuable items is the gold 12-ducat MERENTIBUS medal. It was with this medal that the founder of Mennica Polska, Stanisław August Poniatowski, rewarded achievements in the fields of science, art, and industry. In a separate display case, visitors can also see silver medals from the prestigious “Royal Entourage” series, depicting images of Polish rulers and princes.

Towards the present day

Historical heritage, combined with modern machinery and the high competence of designers and minters, provides a solid foundation for writing new chapters in the history of Mennica Polska with unique designs. The portfolio of decorative techniques offers virtually unlimited possibilities for artistic expression.

The presentation of unique designs from our collection in an ultra-modern office building, which has the word “Mennica” (Mint) in its name, is a symbol of continuous development for us. With an open mind, we implement bold artistic visions supported by ever-increasing technological capabilities. Today, the collectible coins of Mennica Polska set global standards ," emphasizes Katarzyna Budnicka-Filipiuk, CEO and President of the Management Board of Mennica Polska.

The synergy of activities, which lies in the combination of high technology and human craftsmanship, is the hallmark of Mennica Polska around the world. Part of the exhibition will be devoted to modern collector and numismatic issues, including a series inspired by the work of Zdzisław Beksiński. Mennica Polska is the only institution in the world with exclusive rights to create coins featuring reproductions of the artist's works.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from November 17 to 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on the ground floor of a modern office building located in the center of Warsaw (ul. Prosta 18). Admission to the exhibition is free.
