Mint of Poland’s gold coins for 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition laureates

Held once every five years only, the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition is one of the highlights of the year for all classical music lovers around the world. In recognition of their talent, passion and commitment, this year the Mint of Poland funded for all laureates of the prestigious competition one-ounce gold coins with the image of this famous Polish composer and virtuoso pianist.

In 2021, the International Chopin Piano Competition was held for the eighteenth time. This time, the jury awarded not six, but eight young pianists. Apart from the prizes, all laureates also received one-ounce gold coins featuring a portrait of the great Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin. The coins were handed over to the competition winners by Katarzyna Budnicka, Supervisory Board Member of Mennica Polska S.A., at a gala event held on 22 October 2021.
