Mint of Poland confirms again compliance with the highest security standards of electronic payment transactions

29 march 2021

The Mint of Poland is proud to announce that the Company’s Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification has been renewed for another year. PCI DSS certification affirms compliance of cashless transactions carried out in the Company’s ticket vending machines and mobile ticket validators with the highest industry security and data protection standards.

Cashless payments are steadily gaining in popularity due to the convenience and speed of transactions. This also applies to cashless purchase of public transport tickets, whether in stationary vending machines before the journey or in mobile ticket validators already onboard the vehicle. To respond to the trends, the Mint of Poland’s Electronic Payments Department, which is responsible for implementation of the Company’s electronic payment innovations, continues to work on new proprietary solutions, while staying committed to ensuring the highest standards of security and customer data protection.

Another successful PCI DSS certification

PCI Data Security Standard certification is valid for one year only and is subject to annual renewal through a special audit on compliance with the security standards outlined by the PCI Security Standards Council. In the recently conducted annual audit, the Mint of Poland has successfully demonstrated its adherence to the restrictive standards and guidelines of the leading international payment card organizations.

The Mint was first certified with PCI Data Security Standard, Merchant Level 1, in December 2019. For more information about it, read here: https://en.mennica.com.pl/about-us/news/news-details/the-highest-level-of-security-in-public-transport
