The 17th International Public Transport Fair – TRANSEXPO will take place in Kielce from October 16 to 18, 2024. Mennica Polska will be represented at the event by the Electronic Payments Department. The experts will present the principles of the URBANCARD Agglomeration System, which allows residents of Wrocław and surrounding municipalities to quickly and conveniently purchase public transport tickets.

TRANSEXPO is the largest industry event in this part of Europe, gathering leaders and experts from the public transport sector. Over the years, Mennica Polska’s proprietary solutions have been recognized four times as the best in the public transport fare collection systems category.

At this year’s edition of the fair, Mennica Polska’s experts will showcase the principles and benefits of expanding the URBANCARD system to additional municipalities around Wrocław. Mennica Polska’s solution addresses the need for a unified fare collection system across the entire Wrocław Agglomeration. So far, the benefits of the system have extended not only to passengers in Wrocław but also to residents of Kąty Wrocławskie, Czernica, Wisznia Mała, Żórawina, Kobierzyce, and Siechnice.

The URBANCARD system quickly gained popularity among passengers due to its ease of use and quick ticket purchase process. The user selects a ticket on the screen and pays by tapping a payment card or another device with contactless payment functionality (e.g., smartphone, smartwatch). The electronic ticket is then assigned to the payment method used.
