It is of no surprise that the fabulously colorful bird looks impressive on a silver coin! The photographic quality effect was ensured thanks to the high-end digital printing: the images of brightly-feathered bee-eaters look extremely lifelike. Juicy colors and stark contrast let us see even the tiniest details of their plumage! Specially designed presentation case featuring these lovely birds forms with the coin a coherent, harmonious whole.

European bee-eaters (Merops apiaster)  most willingly live in open sunlit areas of meadows, fields and pastures with high landform diversity. They nest in dens located in sandy and earthen scarps. The representatives of this species are excellent hunters, not afraid of being stung by a bee or a wasp. European bee-eaters breed in Europe, mostly in the warmer southern parts. Despite not being currently considered threatened with extinction, the species is protected by the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats.
