The charm of the coin is complemented by its packaging with an outline of animals to be featured in this series. It is housed in a box depicting an image of a rhinoceros designed specifically to house this coin.
The coin celebrates the beauty of wild nature and at the same time reminds us about the greatest care, which should be given to species being at risk of extinction. You just need to have it in your collection!
In the central part of the coin – the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Below – inscriptions: Ag 999 (the hallmark), m/w (the mint mark). Along the rim – inscriptions: ELIZABETH II, NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), 1 DOLLAR (the face value), and the year od issue – 2014.
On the reverse there are depicted two multi-coloured images of the baby and adult rhinoceros in the bosom of nature. Below – an image of a map, showing the location of occurrence of the rhinoceros. Against a map – a magnifier embedded with a SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal, which imitates lens. Along the rim – inscriptions: ENDANGERED ANIMAL SPECIES (the name of the series), BLACK RHINOCEROS (the name of the coin).
